RHEGOLITH

Rhegolith is a formation of broken ground, consolidated with ancestral memory and lore. The suture of the terms “Regolith” ( a layer of loose, broken rock and dust that covers solid bedrock) and “Rheged” (an ancient kingdom of Hen Ogledd - 'Old North') anchors the collaborative practice in a boundary zone, a place of friction and productive tension. Working with experimental technologies and methodologies, the project seeks to find loose ground, question what is valuable and allow for freedom of process over perceptions of value. Digital and analogue, mechanic and human, inert and living cross paths and share space. The map is drawn by the territory, the work is the work and the result is unknowable.
